Managing Director of Curriculum & Career Technical Education (CTE)

at The Center for Black Educator Development

The Organization

In a sentence: The Center for Black Educator Development (CBED) is a non-profit organization rebuilding the national Black Teacher Pipeline so Black and other disenfranchised students can reap the full benefits of a quality public education.

The current landscape: Research shows when Black students have Black teachers who reflect their experiences and worldviews, they perform better in school. But most go through 13 years of public education without one.

The Center for Black Educator Development was built to address this national educational crisis by increasing the number of Black teachers in public schools and promoting anti-discriminatory, culturally-responsive educational practices.
